Secretary Shulkin, a board certified internist, has extensive expertise in leading healthcare organizations. As the Ninth Secretary of the US Department of Veteran Affairs he led the country's largest health system. Secretary Shulkin is a widely respected healthcare executive, having served as chief executive of leading hospitals and health systems including Beth Israel in New York City and Morristown Medical Center in Northern New Jersey. Secretary Shulkin has also held numerous physician leadership roles including the University of Pennsylvania Health System, Temple University Hospital, and the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital. Secretary Shulkin has held academic positions including the Chairman of Medicine and Vice Dean at Drexel University School of Medicine.
Dr. Jaff is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a globally recognized medical expert. He has been President of Newton-Wellesley Hospital (NWH). Before becoming NWH’s President, Dr. Jaff served as the first Paul and Phyllis Fireman Endowed Chair of Vascular Medicine and Medical Director of the Fireman Vascular Center at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr Jaff has been published many times in the medical literature, including more than 320 peer-reviewed publications and 10 textbooks.
